Case Highlights
Buckingham Heavy Transport successfully completed the underhook-to-storage transport of six industrial generators. The project began shipside, where the gensets were offloaded by crane to Buckingham’s 12-line Goldhofer SPMTs. The SPMTs provided the maneuverability and necessary load capacity to safety transport the 334,000-lb generators through the port.
At the storage site, Buckingham had pre-positioned custom-fabricated can stands and beam mats designed to support the generators’ significant weight. The Buckingham crew drove the SPMTs between the stands, where the gensets were lowered to final position. The transporters were then removed, leaving the generators securely staged for storage.
