Coordinated Transport
of Three Transformers

Case Highlights
Buckingham Heavy Transport completed the delivery of three 265,000-lb transformers from rail siding to pads, offloading them from the railcars as they arrived and transporting them several miles to the substation. The team used 16 lines of Goldhofer ADDrive trailer, which enabled them to pass a bridge load rating and steer the transformer through a crossing constrained by traffic signal mast arms. The ADDrive also assisted on the significant grade into the substation and in navigating the constrained substation environment. Once in the substation, the crew used a Buckingham jack and slide system to offload the transformers and set them to their pads.

Client Satisfaction
Buckingham’s timely deployment as the transformers arrived by rail and the crew’s expertise with both the trailer parameters and jack and slide system expedited the transport and delivery process while maintaining safety standards throughout the project. Site officials expressed appreciation for the crew’s efficient work and the minimal disruption to ongoing site activities.
