Buckingham Heavy Transport’s team coordinated the delivery and staging of three United States Coast Guard Cutters, each weighing 360,000 pounds and measuring 110’x25’x55’. Prior to mobilization, Buckingham conducted a thorough ground pressure analysis and confirmed route and laydown area capacities to ensure safe handling of the vessels. Our crew met the vessels dockside, where the cutters were lifted from the water via barge crane and placed onto Buckingham’s 12-line Goldhofer SPMTs.
The self-propelled modular transporters allowed the team to maneuver the vessels smoothly across the facility, accommodating elevation changes and tight navigation zones with precision. At the designated laydown storage area, Buckingham drove the SPMTs between custom-fabricated Buckingham stands and lowered the vessels safely into position.
