Buckingham Transport and Wolfe House Movers played a key role in an accelerated bridge construction project on the Pennsylvania turnpike, completing a bridge replacement in a single weekend. Buckingham loaded the 280,000-lb prebuilt bridge sections onto Buckingham dolly transporters and Goldhofer STZ-P 9 trailers and staged nearby the replacement site for rapid deployment. After the existing bridge sections were dismantled and hauled away, Buckingham transported the new spans into position for final crane placement. Thanks to the streamlined ABC process, the Pennsylvania turnpike was shut down for only 55 hours instead of the estimated six months of restricted traffic flow that the project would have taken using traditional build-in-place methods.
