Buckingham Heavy Transport’s range of equipment facilitated the safe delivery of this 360,000-lb transformer into a tight location, eliminating crane deployment fees for the client. After installing jacking brackets, our crew used the Buckingham jack & slide system to transload the transformer from a railcar to 6 lines of Goldhofer E-steer trailer. They transported it onsite through a power generation station, then uprighted it using a 500-ton gantry system. Because the final site was too tight for the gantry system, we rotated the transformer 90° and slid it into position with the Buckingham jack & slide.
