Buckingham Heavy Transport’s premium equipment and decades of experience moving oversized structures were key in helping our client minimize plant downtime during a routine equipment replacement. Rather than build and install a new lumber sorter in sections—a process that typically takes a couple of weeks—Buckingham devised a solution to move the 1,200,000-lb sorter as a single unit. This allowed the manufacturer to fully assemble the sorter onsite while the existing one remained in operation. When the lumber sorter was completed and the old one demolished, Buckingham moved the new 225’-long sorter into place in just a few hours, enabling our client to wrap up the project ahead of schedule.
