Case Highlights
Buckingham Heavy Transport delivered a 207,900-lb transformer from the port in Maryland to a substation in Pennsylvania. At the port, the transformer was loaded by crane onto a Transmaster 13-axle perimeter trailer. The trailer’s 10-inch road clearance eliminated the need for costly overhead wire adjustments along the 120-mile delivery route. Two escort trucks accompanied the load to the substation, where we used a Buckingham jack and slide system to set the transformer on a temporary pad while the permanent pad was completed. Once the permanent pad was ready, we used the jack and slide system a second time for the transformer’s final placement.
