70-Mile Transformer Delivery with Dolly Transporter

Case Highlights
Buckingham Heavy Transport delivered two 492,500-lb transformers over a 70-mile route to a substation. Utilizing Buckingham’s 36-axle dual-lane transporter, the team towed the transformers for the over-the-road portion of the haul, then switched to self-propelled mode to assist with the grade to the substation. This tailored setup combined with detailed route planning allowed the transformers to be delivered without delay or operational issues.

Client Satisfaction
Buckingham’s custom transporter configuration gave us the versatility to cover the lengthy route with its permitting restrictions and climb the grade to the substation without having to transload the transformers. This increased project efficiency and reduced unnecessary costs for the client.
